Care Home Workshops

The workshops I conduct for care homes are imbued with a mindful essence, offering residents a respite from the rigors of daily life in a home, enabling them to delve into the depths of their suppressed emotions and sentiments, which might otherwise remain unspoken. As I workfrom one care home to another, I encounter a diverse array of participants, many of whom grapple with debilitating mental degenerative conditions. Yet, amidst these challenges, I consistently witness the profound impact of our artistic endeavors. Beyond mere distraction, our sessions provide a focal point for their thoughts, offering a temporary reprieve from the burdens they bear. Moreover, the neurographic art techniques we employ are underpinned by scientific principles, amplifying the therapeutic benefits that residents derive from our workshops.

Neurographic Art

Alot of the exercises we provide in our care home workshops revolve around neurographic art techniques. These are pretty simple for anyone to experiment with and you don't have to an artist in  any shape or form to try them.  That being said there are so many benefits that can be found from them including relieving anxiety, finding peace, reducing stress, gaining clarity and getting things in perspective.

Mental Health

By participating in this type of art it can also engage the brains networks that enhance the way the brain processes information, incorporates external and internal data, and develops new efficient brain connections which is incredibly beneficial to everyone, especially those who sufferer with mental degeneration.

Friendships

Throughout these workshops we also work on collective art pieces which can bring the residents together, form connections and build a sense of teamwork within the group. During my time I have also built friendships with many of the residents and I look forward to seeing them and catching up with them on a regular basis.

Lessons

As much as I am there to teach them new art skills and facilitate the art workshops I have also learnt so many invaluable life lessons from the residents I have worked with. It is a reciprocal relationship which I value so much and would not change for anything. Money simply cannot buy these things.
